Wine Garden Becomes A Fixture At The Bear Trap

The RBC Wine Garden has become a tradition now at The Honda Classic and will return for a third year to the 17th hole as a public hospitality option for spectators attending The Honda Classic.

The tournament will again partner with RBC to present the 2,000 square-foot hospitality area which will provide all spectators with sampling opportunities from a variety of winemakers along with covered seating with unobstructed sightlines to the most energetic location on the tournament grounds.

Wines from various parts of the world will be available for purchase by the glass or bottle in addition to wine labels owned or licensed by Honda Classic past champions Jack Nicklaus, Ernie Els and Luke Donald. The covered casual seating area is open to the public as they sample the wines.

The selected wines for 2012 are Chalone Vineyard Monterey Chardonnay, Stella di Notte Pinot Grigio, Chalone Vineyard Monterey Merlot, Chalone Vineyard Monterey Cabernet Sauvignon, NewHarbour Sauvignon Blanc, Crème dy Lys Chardonnay, Novarro Correas Malbec, Sterling Meritage, Chalone Monterey Pinot Noir, Rosenblum Paso Robles, Luke Donald Chardonnay, Chalone Estates Chardonnay, Jade Mountain White Blend, Jack Nicklaus Cabernet Sauvignon, Ernie Els Big Easy, and Stella di Notte Prosecco.

"The RBC Wine Garden creates another unique fan experience at the tournament," said Honda Classic Executive Director Kenneth R. Kennerly. "The opportunity to sample fine wine while watching the best players in the world play the 17th hole is one of the things that make attending The Honda a special experience. It's a venue for people who want a little different environment while watching the golf tournament. We continue to feel that it dove tails well with the Palm Beach County community."

Wine Tour Paks, which will consist of an any day tournament ticket with parking, three two-ounce wine samples of choice, one full glass of wine and coupons good for benefits at eight area restaurants, are being sold for $60.
